Transplantatabstoßung und -versagen sind streng genommen nicht ganz synonym: Das eine bezeichnet einen Prozess "von außen" (Abstoßung), das andere, was mit dem Transplantat passiert (Versagen).

In its strict sense, transplant rejection and failure are not synonymous: One describes an active process from "outside" (rejection), the other one what happens to the transplant (failure).
